The Western Michigan Broncos (3-6) battle the Central Michigan Chippewas (5-4) at home on Tuesday night in a MAC showdown. The Broncos beat Eastern Michigan 45-21 last wek, while the Chippewas knocked off Northern Illinois, 37-31.
Will Central Michigan improve to 2-4 on the road, or will Western Michigan defend their home turf?

The Chippewas are a ground-and-pound kind of team, ranking 35th in the country with 38.8 rush attempts per game. They don’t pass nearly as much, and they rank in the bottom third in both completions and completion percentage.
Their defense is subpar, allowing a ton of passing yards per game (256.4) and 407.3 yards overall (34th-most).
The Broncos love to run the ball even more than the Chippewas. They average 41.7 rushing attempts per game, the 13th-most in the nation. They’re not a bad passing team either, but the run is their bread and butter.
WMU’s defense gives up more rushing yards than the FBS average, but they’ve limited passing yards well up to this point, which should help them on Tuesday.
CMU managed to upset NIU last week, but before that, they’d failed to cover the spread four straight times. WMU has covered five of their past six, and they should be able to win by a field goal here, thanks to their superior offensive unit.
